Close to the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord

Undredal is a small community known for its densely populated area, the famous stave church and the white and brown Undredal cheese. The stave church in Undredal was built around 1147. On the way down the valley from the E16, you pass two mountain farms and Undredal Stølsysteri, recognized for its goat cheese, recently awarded at the World Cheese Awards 2023.

The apartments are located by the fjord, with only a 3-4 minute walk to the center of Undredal. There are two houses with a total of fire apartments, a large outdoor area by the fjord and a private parking lot. There is also private access to the fjord with a small pier for fishing and swimming. A sandy beach for swimming can be found in the center of Undredal.

The apartments have been recently refurbished and have modern furnishings. Two of the apartments have 2 bedrooms with a total of 4 beds, and the other two apartments have 3 bedrooms with 6 beds. All apartments have a kitchen and bathroom; one of the apartments also has a sauna. Facilities include internet, TV and electric heating, and one of the apartments also has a wood-burning stove.

Centrally located

Undredal stavkyrkje, which dates from 1147, is a key attraction. Nearby you'll find Underdalsbui, a local shop offering groceries, local goat cheese and souvenirs. Feel free to visit the shop's website for more information:

Undredal pier, with its restaurant and center for the presentation of local goat cheese and goat cheese tradition, is also worth a visit. The church, which is over 850 years old, is the oldest in the region and testifies to Undredal's central role in the area throughout the ages. It is also known as Scandinavia's smallest stave church still in use.

The apartments

The ground floor apartments have an entrance on the parking level and a balcony overlooking the fjord, making them ideal also during the fall and winter seasons. The ground floor apartments have private terraces. All apartments offer windows with unique views of the fjord and the surrounding landscape.

Undredal is a quiet beach town with about 60 permanent residents. Underdalsbui, the local grocery store, is open all year round; daily in summer and closed on Sundays in winter. 

Undredal Brygge with its restaurant and center for the local goat cheese tradition is open during the summer season. From the main E16 highway between Oslo and Bergen, it's a 6 km drive down Undredalen to the beach resort by the fjord. It takes about 2.5 hours from Bergen Airport and 5-6 hours from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, with only a 15-minute drive from Flåm and the famous Flåm Railway. Aurland, the municipal center, is 30 minutes away.

Booking and communication

All booking and communication goes to the local hosts Natalia and Leif Inge Underdal, who are also the owners of the apartments. Upon reservation, you will immediately receive specified information Natalia and Leif Inge personally follow up all reservations and can meet you on arrival if you wish. Otherwise, the key is in the door of the apartment with ready-made beds ready to move in.
